MDO.MONTECARLO PRIZE 2022 is an international prize organised by MDO in partnership with l’Arca International magazine with the support of IFI World, ADI, Institut Français du Design, Dedalo Minosse, Maison&Objet,Fuorisalone Milano,La Gazette de Monaco and Monaco Imprese.
The prize is awarded to industries whose products are manufactured along the distinctive lines of design and stand out on the market for their quality and innovation.
Following the success and prestige associated with the first edition organised in 2019, MDO.MONTECARLO PRIZE 2020 is widening its horizons to become an even more culturally significant and eye-catching event awarding 14 “Pyramid” prizes in each of 14 products categories. In addition, an exhibition-conference entitled “Make&Create” will attract important speakers from all over the world and provide nominated companies
with the chance to meet and interact with designers and businesspeople from all over the world.

Public or private companies, manufacturers of components, systems or other products available on the international market, can spontaneously submit their candidatures to the technical secretary’s office.
Filling in the online entry form
Companies can enter the most suitable category for their own particular business. A Scientific Committee composed of international players and professionalswill ascertain that the companies meet the standards set in the rules and regulations. All the companies entered in the prize will be treated as NOMINEES and assessed by the panel of judges.
To enter for the Prize, companies that have been selected
Must fill in the entry form they receive from the prize’s secretary’s office and pay 50% of the stipulated entry fee at that moment in time:
First period, from the 30th June 2021 to the 31st December 2021 at midnight: € 5.900
Second period, from the 1st January 2022 to the 31st July 2022 at midnight: € 6.900
Provide a maximum of three technical data sheets of their three most significant products displayed in their official catalogues or available on national/international markets at the closing date for entries (art. 9 deadlines)
Present products based on an industrial design project, not craft products.
Present products that are original creations and not plagiarised or copied from other products.
Nomination to enter MDO.MONTECARLO PRIZE 2022 entitles you to:
Be judged by the panel of judges;
An official nomination plaque free from advertising rights;
The visibility of your company’s logo on the Prize’s official website, mdomontecarloprize.com, from the deadline for entering the competition;
Two invitations to the Prize-giving ceremony being held on 25th November 2022;
The creation of a personalised webpage for every nominated company
Be included in the special “catalogue” section for nominated companies created for the November-December 2022 edition of l’Arca International to be handed out during the event
Be included in the publication dedicated to the Prize printed in the first post-event issue of l’Arca International
Have your own corner space for the digital exhibition during the two days of the “Make&Create” exhibition-conference:
- A wall measuring 1 meter (width) x 2.5 meters (height);
- Two inclined walls measuring 0.70 meters (width) x 2.50 meters (height);
- A shelf;
- A latest generation 43-inch LCD screen positioned on the 1-meter wall;
- Two vertical images of the exhibiting company positioned on the two inclined walls;
- The company logo printed and placed above the screen;
- An electrical outlet
- The corners will be visible to the public at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco from the 24th to the 25th November 2022.
Four invitations to the “Make&Create” Conference to be held on the 24th-25th November 2022
Business people will meet designers and discuss processes of sustainability, quality and innovation that respect and safeguard the natural environment mankind will have to live in the years to come, while maintaining progress in industrial production and enhancing its utility and efficiency.
All companies taking part in the prize will not only have the right to take part in the International Conference.
There will be two days of discussions and debate led by intellectuals, businesspeople, designers and journalists, which will provide a unique and prestigious platform of interaction and exchange between industry, culture and design.
All the companies entering the competition will be showcased at an exhibition set up inside Diaghilev space in Grimaldi Forum, which stands alongside a 300 m² conference room that will be hosting the “Make& Create” convention.
The 1800 m² exhibition facility will be divided into pre-furbished modular spaces available to all those taking part, which will be equipped with an LCD screen for projecting webpages, corporate videos, and images of projects/products.
A turnkey concept is being implemented, including installation, a catering service, Internet connection, online/off-line communication, invitations to the Convention and attendance at the Prizegiving Ceremony to be held on 25th November 2022.
The Prize-Giving Ceremony will take place on on 25th November 2022. The names of the winners and the prizes of the 14 categories will be awarded as part of a solemn event.
Nature of Prizes
The winners in each category will receive a “Pyramid”, an artwork based on a design by Richard England, a well-known artist from Malta.
The nominated companies will be given a personalised plaque as recognition of their nomination, while special prizes will be awarded along with a highly distinctive plaque.
